Therapist for Driven & Emotionally Guarded Clients
I work with individuals who are used to being capable, independent, and composed, but may feel less certain when it comes to what’s happening internally. Many of my clients are thoughtful, driven, and accustomed to relying on logic, self-sufficiency, or control. Those strengths have often served them well, but over time, they can also make it harder to recognize what they need, let others in, or feel fully connected to themselves.
In our work, I offer a calm, structured space where you can understand yourself without feeling pressured to open up before you’re ready. I view self-protection with curiosity rather than judgment. My approach blends psychodynamic and attachment-focused therapy with CBT-informed strategies, allowing us to explore both where patterns come from and how they show up in your life and relationships today.
Many of my clients have spent years figuring things out on their own. Therapy isn’t about taking away the independence, ambition, or strength that has helped you get where you are. It’s about understanding yourself more deeply, becoming more comfortable with your emotional world, and building relationships and a life that feel as meaningful internally as they may look externally.
Therapy can be a place to understand what has protected you, what still serves you, and what you’re ready to do differently.
